Factsheets

In partnership with the Pacific Climate Change Centre at the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), ICEDS has developed a range of factsheets summarising the findings of the IPCC’s latest reporting cycle, or The Sixth Assessment Cycle (AR6).

These factsheets are based off the four IPCC Working Group reports that were published during AR6, and summarise:

The factsheets are designed to help make the findings of these reports accessible to decision-makers and communities in the Pacific.

The Physical Science Basis Factsheets »

This report covers off on the physical science basis of climate change. It looks the current state of the climate, how it is changing, the role of human influence, and possible climate futures.

Impacts, Adaptation & Vulnerability Factsheets »

This report assesses the impacts of climate change, looking at ecosystems, biodiversity, and human communities at global and regional levels. It considers who is most vulnerable, what capacity nature and humans have to adapt to changes, and the limits to these responses. Chapter 15 focuses on Small Islands.

Mitigation of Climate Change Factsheets »

This report focuses on climate change mitigation, assessing methods for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and removing greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. It also looks at our 'carbon budget' - the maximum we can emit to keep warming below 1.5°C.

Synthesis Report Factsheets - Pacific Island Countries & Territories »

This Synthesis report integrates all IPCC reports from the last seven years (Sixth Assessment Cycle) to provide a comprehensive understanding of climate change drivers, impacts, and adaptation and mitigation responses.

Synthesis Report Factsheets - Australia »
