Rachel completed her bachelor of science and subsequent honours year at the Fenner School, focusing on bushfires, severe weather and climate change. She went on to work in heatwave research before working as a climate change adaptation consultant in Sydney. She is now pursuing a PhD project aiming to predict Australian bushfire season severity months in advance using weather and climate variables.
