Akka Rimon is a PhD candidate with the Department of Pacific Affairs, Coral Bell School. She is one of three inaugural recipients of the Australia-Pacific Security College (APSC) PhD Scholarship Awards. Her research explores labour migration as an economic adaptation to climate induced displacement in the Pacific, providing a small island perspective from Kiribati.Prior to commencing her candidature with the DPA in 2022, she served in the Government of Kiribati as a senior administration officer for 13 years. In 2013, she was appointed Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Immigration before joining the World Bank in 2016.
