My present research includes work on regional environmental governance in Southeast Asia; climate security and human security in the Asia Pacific, including food security and climate migration (a collaborative project with the Centre for Non-Traditional Security, S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore); and transnational environmental crime for which I have a three year Australian Research Council Linkage Grant. I also have a more general interest in questions of global ethics, particularly global environmental ethics, informed by the contemporary literature on cosmopolitan international theory. My current teaching for the Department's GSIA program focuses on global governance, and on global environmental politics. I am also an Associate of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Policing and Security; the Climate and Environmental Governance Network in University's School of Regulation, Justice and Diplomacy; and the Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation at the University of Warwick. I recently completed a three year term on the Board of Directors of the Academic Council of the United Nations System (ACUNS).
