Crawford School of Public Policy

Debasish started a PhD at the Crawford School of Public Policy, ANU, in February 2019. His primary supervisor is Professor David Stern (Crawford School) and associate supervisors are A/Professor Paul Burke (Crawford School) and Dr. Ryan Edwards (ANU Development Policy Center). His research interests are in energy transition, electricity markets, household energy consumption and behavioural economics.

Debasish completed his first-year PhD coursework under Master of Advanced Economics program from University of Queensland, Australia. He holds MSc. in economics and development from the University of Warwick, England and MSc. in economics from University of Bonn, Germany and a Bachelor (Honor’s) in economics from Khulna University, Bangladesh.

He has been working at universities and research organisations since 2012, including at OPHI University of Oxford, Khulna University, ANU, John Mitchel Lab, Institute of Microfinance and the World Bank. He published several peer-reviewed research articles and engaged with numbers of research projects in energy economics.
