Kazana Leonidas Manayubahwe is a PhD student at the Australian National University (ANU), the Fenner School of Environment and Society. He is also affiliated with the Institute for Water Futures (IWF) and the One Basin CRC.
His research focuses on the economic analysis of managed aquifer recharge and water banking as innovation to enhance water supply and enhance drought resilience in the Murray-Darling Basin.
Before starting his PhD, Kazana built a strong background in economics, working as an analyst and economist in the private consulting. He also served as a macroeconomic policy analyst for the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in Rwanda.
Kazana holds a master's degrees in economics and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Kigali and the University of Rwanda, respectively.
