Jewel joined ICEDS in March 2024. She is the Executive Assistant to Professor Frank Jotzo and supports the Energy Program while also doing her PhD at the Fenner School of Environment and Society major in Environment Resource and Management. She started her PhD in 2023 as a recipient of the John Allwright Fellowship (JAF) scholarship from the Australian Center for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR).

Prior to pursuing her PhD at ANU, Jewel was teaching agribusiness management, marketing and entrepreneurship courses at the University of the Philippine Los Baños. With a career in the academe and agricultural research spanning more than two decades, her research interests include agribusiness, food safety, supply and value chains, technology commercialization, and market research studies, particularly indigenous peoples and underserved communities.
