Aidan Muirhead is Institute Manager at the Institute of Climate, Energy and Disaster Solutions at The Australian National University. Aidan joins ICEDS from the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering where she developed and delivered communication strategies to support STEM career initiatives with a focus on diversity in STEM, to engage government, industry, and academia partners in policy and research translation projects, and to celebrate the incredible impact of Australia’s leading applied scientists, engineers, and technologists. Aidan previously supported the user community of National Computational Infrastructure to amplify their supercomputing and high-performance data driven research as Communications and Outreach Manager. With more than a decade of experience in science communication, Aidan has engaged communities across Australia in events, workshops, and presentations from Ayr to Armidale, Yirrkala to Whyalla, and Hobart to Hermannsburg. She is passionate about engaging people in conversations about the science and solutions that will impact their lives, and developing a brighter future for all through formal and informal education.
