Jorrit Gosens received his PhD in Environmental Economics & Management from the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

His work is focused on the modelling of global energy and resource markets, primarily coal and iron ore. He investigates the effects of efforts at decarbonisation across the APAC region on Australian export opportunities, including possible downstream activities for domestic green iron or steel production.

In his position at the Crawford School of Public Policy, Jorrit works on energy transitions more generally. That includes research and teaching on innovation and industry policy, focused on the development of renewable energy technologies and industries.

Jorrit created and runs China Energy Portal, an online resource with translated Chinese energy policy and statistics.
