Postdoctoral Fellow
College of Science

Recently graduated Doctorate in Materials Science. Have conducted research in the field of high temperature concentrated solar thermal power. Have designed and developed new spectrally selective solar absorbing materials based on multilayer structures and plasmonic composites for an enhanced photo-thermal conversion for parabolic trough applications and solar thermophotovoltaics. Have extensive experience with PVD techniques (e.g. magnetron sputtering), optical techniques (Ellipsometry, Spectroscopy), including development of the theoretical model using WVASE software and correct determination of the optical constants through precise fitting of the oscillator parameters or through effective medium approach; SEM (scanning electron microscopy); cross-sectional TEM (transmission electron microscopy); XRD (X-Ray diffraction); vacuum thermal annealing; prophilometry. Have conducted research internship in the field of microfluidics; Have implemented nanoparticle interaction into microfluid segment technology and chemically synthesized nanoparticles using microreactors; Conducted experiments on the initiation of time-controlled assembling of metallic nanoparticles in micro fluid segments by fast mixing with effectors; have characterised synthesised nanoparticles with spectrometer; SEM; used zeta-potential evaluation.
