Masoud Mohammadpour

PhD Scholar
ANU College of Systems and Society

Masoud is a Ph.D. candidate in Hydrology at Australian National University.

His research advances the projection of flood events under changing climate through improved understanding of rainfall-runoff event characteristics.

He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from University of Tehran, where he investigated the interactions between human and ecosystem dynamics in shaping floods. Following the 2019 floods in Iran – which disturbed the country at a national scale – Masoud contributed to national-scale research in Iran titled “The Special Reporting Committee on Iran Floods (2019)”. He later worked with the National Elite Foundation and Regional Water Company of Khorasan Razavi on sustainable groundwater management frameworks. His research interests span hydrology, hydroinformatics, climate change and anthropogenic impacts, with a strong focus on applying data-driven methods to enhance flood resilience and water resource sustainability.
