Professor Nicolas Cherbuin is the Associate Dean, Higher Degree Research at the College of Law, Governance and Policy. He co-heads the Department of Health, Economics, Wellbeing and Society at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, where he leads the Neuroimaging and Brain Lab.
Research interests
Prof Cherbuin's main interests relate to the investigation of genetic, environmental, health, lifestyle, and personality factors which influence brain health and cognitive health as well as mental health throughout the lifespan. Other research foci include the early screening and identification of individuals at risk of dementia and the identification of associated risk and protective factors, as well as the epidemiological factors that contribute to the development of Multiple Sclerosis, its presentation, and its progression. Prof Cherbuin is involved in several randomised controlled trials aimed at decreasing risk of biological, brain and cognitive ageing.
