Energy contract in North Queensland under scrutiny

Energy policy has long been a battleground within the Coalition and today it emerged the Morrison Government vetoed public funding of a windfarm and battery project in North Queensland, saying it was inconsistent with its objective.

Meanwhile, a separate project in North Queensland, this one involving a coal plant is under scrutiny, after the Morrison Government awarded its owner millions of dollars. The Auditor-General is highly critical of the grant process finding there is a risk the company will not complete the work.
