2015 ANU Climate and Energy Student Prize Winners
On 6th August, post graduate research students in climate change and energy change showcased their research at the annual Climate and Energy Student Expo. The Expo aims to foster an interactive community of researchers and promote the exchange of knowledge in the field of climate change and energy change.
Awards
And the winners were:
Xiaolin Wang for her presentation on "CO2 semi-clathrate hydrates for air conditioning applications"
Jeremy Hall for his presentation on "Light energy capture in natural photosynthesis"
Rani Yesudas was the winner of the poster prize.
Each winner recieved a $500 prize, sponsored by Union Fenosa.
The ANU Energy Change Institute would also like to congratulations PhD candidates Ruth Kharis, Daniel Gilfillan, Cluaida Benham, Brian Weir, Md Alamgir Hossai and Terence Mak for their presentations, which made for tough competition.
Career pathways
This year the Expo was opened by Professor Helen Berry who gave an excellent and very personal presentation outlining how she had come to work in the field of health and climate change and the increasing importance of research on this area.
