Requiem for a Reef
Join artist Ngaio Fitzpatrick, composer Alec Hunter, oceans expert, Nerilie Abrams, ANU Climate Change Institute Director, Mark Howden for a one-off performance and event to open the exhibition timed to coincide with the November Full Moon
Requiem for a Reef is a collaborative work of advocacy for coral reefs around the world. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change advised that we still have time to save the Great Barrier Reef if we take swift action. We live in a Post-Truth and indisputably warming world, a time of great hope as well as despair. Many individual actions form collective action.
Climate change presents a great challenge which will require us to work collectively to ensure that we preserve a habitable and bio diverse Earth for future generations.
***This is an outdoor event and as the observatory has no roof is weather dependent. Please refer to this webpage or see Instagram #ngaiofitz for updates.
The exhibition will run from 18-24 November, 10am-4pm every day.
