The next round of global climate change negotiations is being held in Azerbaijan from 11 to 22 November. The 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP29, brings together speakers from around the world, with a focus on a collective path towards sustainability and climate action.

What will be the key takeaways from COP29? What are the implications for Australia and the region? And what future actions are needed to ensure nations around the world prioritise global commitments to climate action?

Join us for a post-COP29 panel event to hear leading experts, including those who attended COP29 in person, discuss these questions and more.

Speakers include:

  • Salā Dr George Carter, Senior Fellow and Deputy Head, ANU Department of Pacific Affairs; Member of Scientific Council of the COP29 Presidency

  • Dr Hina Aslam, Andre Hoffman Research Fellow, ANU and World Economic Forum

  • Professor Howard Bamsey, School of Regulation and Global Governance; Former Australian Special Envoy on Climate Change

  • Tegan Clark, PhD Candidate, Fenner School of Environment and Society; Youth Activist, Plan International Australia
