Professor Paul Burke

Professor, Crawford School of Public Policy

Paul Burke is a Professor at the Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University. His research is in energy and environmental economics, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific.

Paul has published in journals including the American Economic Journal: MacroeconomicsEconomic InquiryNature GeoscienceNature Climate ChangeEnergy, and Global Environmental Change. He is an Associate Editor of Asian-Pacific Economic Literature and on the Editorial Board of the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies.

Paul teaches IDEC8029 Issues in Applied Microeconomics and has been Chair of Panel for five graduated PhD students in the Crawford PhD in Economics program. He has delivered Executive Education training in microeconomics, environmental economics, energy economics, and related fields for a range of public sector and open-enrolment participants.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics (Honours I) from the University of Sydney and a PhD in Economics from the Australian National University. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia (FASSA) and a Distinguished Fellow of the Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society.
