Dr Zelio Fusco

Research Fellow, College of Engineering & Computer Science

Zelio is currently a Research Fellow in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at the Australian National University under the supervision of Dr. Fiona Beck.

He received his Master of Science in Physics with sub-curricula in Radiation and Hadrotherapy from University of Rome Tor Vergata in collaboration with Center of National Research (CNR). He then moved to the ANU where he completed his PhD on the development of complex and disordered photonic materials for sensing applications.

His current research interests focuse on the development of theoretical and experimental frameworks for plasmonic- and photonic-assisted catalysis, with particular attention to hot carrier generation, extraction and injection to adjiacient molecules or semiconductors to drive chemical reactions.
