A promising avenue for scaling up climate finance is for public funds to be used to leverage much larger private funding. The Pacific region offers opportunities to do so, including through enhanced engagement by Australia. What are proven and prospective models to leverage private funding sources on the back of public investments? Could institutions like national or pluri-lateral Green Banks help unlock large private funding flows in the Pacific?

Watch the COP28 side event hosted by the ANU Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions (ICEDS) to consider these questions and more.

Speakers Include:

  • Hon. Hu'akavameiliku, Prime Minister of Tonga
