Liam Connolly O'Donnell

Research Officer, Climate Program
ANU Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions

Liam Connolly O’Donnell is a Research Officer at the Institute of Climate, Energy and Disaster Solutions at the Australian National University.

After several years studying and working in Japan and France, Liam returned to Australia to undertake a Master’s of Environment at the ANU’s Fenner School of Environment and Society.

After graduating with commendation, he began working at the Fenner School as a Field Services Officer and Research Officer.

After moving to ICEDS, Liam now works on a project investigating how the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) scheme is transforming rural communities and landscapes in Australia. The research explores what constitutes best practice in environmental markets and how the ACCU scheme could be improved to maximise the social, environmental, and economic co-benefits of carbon farming projects while mitigating adverse co-impacts and risks.
