Applications now open: Project Officer (Carbon Removal) ANU Below Zero

5 July 2023

ANU currently emits significant quantities of greenhouse gases (GHGs), contributing to one of the greatest challenges the world has ever faced: climate change. Our goal is to transition ANU from being part of the problem to becoming part of the solution – from a source of GHGs to a net absorber of GHGs (a sink for GHGs) via the ANU Below Zero Program

ANU Below Zero is seeking a casual Project Officer (Carbon Removal) to assist in identifying, securing and purchasing high-quality carbon credits and contribute to the development, execution, and review of ANU-connected carbon removal projects. This is an exciting opportunity to have a real-world climate action impact by contributing to emerging best-practice carbon offsetting and removal projects.

We are looking for a proactive individual who is comfortable when faced with complexity and uncertainty. You will have excellent project management and interpersonal skills and can flex your communication style across written and oral materials depending on your audience. You are organised with good attention to detail and can easily adapt to changing priorities in an agile environment.

Knowledge / experience / qualifications working on carbon removal, climate change, or environmental-related issues will be highly regarded.
