About
Yvonne is a PhD candidate in the School of Sociology at ANU. Her research is a social study of neurodivergence and climate change, exploring how neurodivergent people experience climate change and develop political perspectives on the inequalities and social justice issues that emerge in response to it. Her supervisors are Dr Rebecca Pearse (School of Sociology, ANU), Professor Celia Roberts (School of Sociology, ANU), and Dr Laura Davy (Crawford School of Public Policy, ANU).
Yvonne has a Master of Development Studies from Victoria University of Wellington where she examined climate justice and climate movement/s in Aotearoa as a post- and critical development approach to climate change. As fieldwork was conduct in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, this research also resulted in a journal article focusing on the overlap and impact of COVID-19 on climate justice in Aotearoa.
Previously she has worked as a climate change policy analyst and advisor in the New Zealand public and civil sectors looking at equitable and just transitions, public sector decarbonisation, the engineering sector, and equipment energy efficiency regulations.
She is the recipient of an Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) Scholarship.
