Associate Professor Susan Hansen

Susan Hansen is an Associate Professor in the School of Cybernetics and School of Computing at the Australian National University. Susan has applied Human-Centred Design practices for over two decades across research and commercial contexts in Australia, South Africa and Hong Kong.

After starting her career at Australia’s National Science Agency CSIRO designing telemedicine systems, she worked for multiple strategic design agencies and a startup before finding her way back to the university sector. 

She is a passionate advocate of the urgent need for the adoption of systems approaches and responsible innovation practices in the technology sector, in particular in this age of AI.
