Steven Buchannan

Steven is a PhD student of Mat Langford in the ANU Mathematical Sciences Institute, where he studies geometric analysis, particularly geometric flows. He is also involved in an interdisciplinary climate research project. The goal of this project is to develop a global material stock database to better understand how material stocks affect greenhouse gas emissions and the climate system, with the aim of establishing a material stock budget to inform sustainable resource management.

Steven is interested in applying mathematical methods alongside data-science and quantitative analysis to real-world problems in climate and sustainability.
