About
Nara Choi is a PhD student in the ANU Thermal Energy Group, where her research focuses on the development of next-generation ceramic materials for high-temperature (>1000°C) thermal energy storage (TES) systems. She completed her Bachelor's degree at the ANU, majoring in Renewable Energy Engineering with minors in Physics and Electronics & Communications.
Her current research addresses the challenges of increasing energy density and utilisation in ceramic storage media. This work extends beyond material science including systems-level and technoeconomic approaches, facilitating the seamless integration of thermal storage into heavy-industrial workflows. She is developing the engineering framework required to eliminate the risks of renewable intermittency, without compromising operational continuity for industrial manufacturing through advanced thermal storage.
