Dr Shuang Wang

Shuang is currently a Research Fellow in the Thermal Energy group. He finished his PhD in 2022 from ANU, specialising in design and optimisation of a heliostat field and a sodium receiver for next-generation CSP plants.

Following his PhD, he worked at Windlab before returning to ANU for research. Shuang holds both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Energy & Power Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University, China.

Research interests

Shuang is currently working on an ARENA-funded PV-DEH (Direct Electrical Heating) project and a HILTCRC-funded Hydrogen Hub and Energy Infrastructure project. He is also a lecturer and tutor for the Wind Energy (ENGN4548/ENGN6548) course.
